Neglect
Yes, this poor blog is being neglected. I've been keeping busy with Bryce, applications and my final class that started this week. Things should get a little less crazy in August...

Sunriver
Our first trip to Sunriver was with my family, just months before we got married. We fell in love with it immediately. 2005 started our tradition of going down for the Pacific Crest weekend, which is full of races and family fun. The last two years we have been lucky to have Brian's family meet us there. The vacation was a bit longer than usual, as Brian had more time off work and I wasn't in school.
This year had its ups and downs with Bryce. He really enjoyed the tree-lined paths, biking, the stables, the parks, the pool, everything Sunriver has to offer. However, his sleep schedule was really messed up. He was also fighting an illness, which made things even more difficult. I think we learned that it's hard to share a house with a group of people when you've got a toddler.
Brian ran the half-marathon, finishing with a 1:27:25. That's 2nd in his age group and 15th out of 1400 runners. Wow! Brian's dad, John, ran the half too. Super impressive. I ran the 5k with Bryce in the stroller. We won't talk about my time (slow-I am NOT a runner). I think it may be the last year pushing Bryce, man he's getting heavy. My arms and upper back were so sore the next morning!
Overall, we had a lot of fun. We're thinking about going back in September to celebrate our anniversary with our little man. If you've never been to Sunriver, you should go :) Here are a few shots from our trip:
We sure missed Grandma Jeanne. But, we understand how busy she is with school (I do better than anyone!) We are so proud of her and look forward to her visiting us soon.

Father's Day
Gosh, it's been a while. I didn't intend on taking a blog-cation, I just got wrapped up in life. Instead of catch you up on everything I thought I'd just focus on the highlights of the last few weeks.
We celebrated Father's Day a day early by taking my parents out to Sauvie Island for the Berry Jam at Krueger's. They have the most amazing BBQ and strawberry shortcakes. I enjoyed the best veggie burger I have every had as well as the yummiest corn on the cob in the world. Oh, it was so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
In all the years mom and dad have lived here, they've never gone out to Sauvie Island, so we were super excited to take them. It was a bit early for fresh, local produce at the farm markets, so I think we better head out there again so mom can see all the glorious veggies and fruits that we enjoy every year. I hope my hubby enjoyed father's day. He is an incredible husband and father. Without him I would never have been able to make it through grad school. I am so lucky to have such a supportive and loving partner in parenting. Bryce adores his daddy, too. We love you, Brian!
